The fort is quadrangular and consists of two adjacent buildings. The main building includes premises that were originally created as living quarters and ends with a bell tower. It is adjoined by a bastion, which, in contrast to the main building covered with plaster, is designed in simple brickwork.
Villa Bertelli
Villa Bertelli is a late 19th century mansion located in the Vittoria Apuana area at 200 Via Mazzini. The villa was built in 1896 by the Italian company SIPE, specialized in the production of explosives. Originally, the villa had its own marina for shipping mines produced by this company abroad. The resort history of the town began in the 19th century, when a fashion for sea recreation arose among the Italian nobility. In Forte dei Marmi, infrastructure began to expand immediately. Today, according to established tradition, there is no trace of mass tourism in Forte dei Marmi. Top-level restaurants, bars, discos are waiting for eminent guests. The most pretentious nightclubs are The Twiga and La Capannina di Franceschi, where golden youth spend their leisure time.
Those who are alien to the world of luxury and glamor can enjoy a completely different kind of sights of Forte dei Marmi. For example, you can see the remains of an old fort that have survived to this day, stroll deep into the sea along a pier 300 meters long, visit the funny Museum of Satire and Cartoons, or conquer the peaks of the Apuan Alps.

On the shores of the warm Ligurian Sea is the small village of Forte dei Marmi. Previously, she was particularly unknown to anyone, until the Russians noticed her in the late 90s. No one knows for sure who became its discoverer. Some say that it was the owner of AFK Sistema, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, while others believe that it was the Russian wife of one of the Italian communists. And then, as often happens, another reached for one, then a third, and the place became fashionable. Such a beachfront Courchevel. Forte is not much different from the neighboring places, the same wide snow-white beaches, the same calm and warm sea. Only the prices are several times higher, and Russian is spoken everywhere. Until now, you can find expensive cars with Russian numbers here, and in restaurants the menu will most likely be in Russian.

15. Russian women, who in Moscow will not even come close to a bicycle, here quietly go to a restaurant with children on ordinary city bicycles.

19. Forte dei Marmi has not always been a resort. It appeared on the shores of the Ligurian Sea in the 16th century. At first it was a small military fortress, which developed well due to the marble trade. Only closer to the 19th century, when it became fashionable among the Italian aristocracy to rest in resorts, Forte dei Marmi became one of the secular capitals of Italy. It managed to become a popular resort due to its mild climate and very good landscape: the town is located on a sandy beach at the foot of beautiful mountains with pine forests.

Many influential politicians and businessmen who had their residences in Forte dei Marmi went into the shadows, and the town fell into decay.
