Types of exterior home decoration decorative facing tiles. Impregnation and coloring. Facade decoration with tiled materials

Building a house is just the beginning of painstaking work. In the future, it is necessary to carry out high-quality finishing work.
How and how to decorate the outside of the house? At the moment, there are materials for these purposes, which are used for both outdoor and internal works.
They are considered versatile, and there are those that can only be used inside or outside.

The outside plays a big role. It protects the building from the effects of weather and climatic conditions, thereby extending its service life.
In addition, with the help of finishing works, houses are decorated, and an original appearance is given.

Materials used to decorate the house outside

In the process of finishing work, the building is insulated and insulated... The choice of material for this is so great that it will not be difficult to choose the best option.
The exterior decoration of houses is currently carried out by the following materials:

  • Siding.
  • Molding.
  • Plastic.
  • Plaster.
  • Penetrated.
  • Stone.
  • With bricks and so on.

The choice largely depends on what the walls of the building are erected from and how it is operated.
Houses are built from:

  • Foam concrete blocks.
  • Shellfish.
  • Aerated concrete.
  • Brick.
  • On the basis of the frame.

Note. The latter in most cases refers to simple country houses that are not used throughout the year. Accordingly, the decoration on the walls of such a structure can be done without any special insulation work.

Siding in the exterior of the house

For many years this type of finishing material has been used for outdoor work. But, at the moment there is a separate type of it, which is used for interior decoration.
Siding has excellent technical characteristics, thanks to which the material is widely used in outdoor decoration.
Siding benefits:

  • The main advantage of this finishing material is its practicality.
  • It is moisture resistant and can withstand temperature fluctuations.
  • Also, siding is not exposed to weather and climatic influences.
  • It does not fade in the sun, which makes it possible to preserve the original appearance of the finishing work for a long period.
  • Siding is easy to install.
  • Its price at the moment is quite low, which makes the material more affordable for use.
  • Do not forget that siding has a large selection of colors and different sizes.
  • Its service life is on average about 15-20 years.

Very often, the outside is performed with siding. Frame structures are also decorated with it.
This finishing material is produced in sheets or in the form of separate strips.
Installation of siding on the surface, tools and materials:

  • Level.
  • Wooden boards and planks.
  • Self-tapping screws for wood.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Starting stripes.
  • External and internal corners.
  • Self-tapping screws for attaching strips or siding sheets.

Stages of work:

  • Initially, a frame is built on the surface of wooden planks and boards using self-tapping screws. Subsequently, finishing material will be mounted on it.

Council. If this is a frame-type structure, then such work does not have to be performed due to the fact that the surface of the material that will cover the frame of the structure and will be the basis for the installation of siding (OSB, plywood).

  • A starting strip is attached to the finished crate for mounting the material. The direction of the strips or siding sheets will be repelled from it.
It is mounted using self-tapping screws and a screwdriver.
  • Material is inserted into it and fixed on the crate with self-tapping screws. Such actions are carried out with each element of decoration.
At the end of all finishing work, the outer and inner corners of the siding are mounted, which will help to hide the ends of the finishing material.

Council. While working on finishing the building with siding, you can insulate it.

All work is done by hand, since there is nothing complicated in them with the use of:

  • Styrofoam.
  • Polyurethane foam.
  • Mineral wool or other solid mineral insulation.

The layers of the selected material are tightly inserted into the cells of the wooden lathing and can be fixed there using construction or assembly glue.

Molding for finishing the building outside

Molding for lately has become very popular. The walls of the building look very solid and attractive.
The photo shows an example of design. This is not to say that this material is used only for a brick or foam concrete wall, it can be applied everywhere.
Molding is a decorative element of decoration and it is made from:

  • Gypsum test.
  • Metal.
  • Polyurethane.

Each species differs in its technical characteristics and properties.

Gypsum dough molding

This type of finishing material is very much reminiscent of stucco molding, which was widely used in the decoration of buildings in the style of classicism, baroque and similar styles. Very often outdoor decoration brick house is performed using plaster molding, which is mounted under the roof of the building and at its corners.

Again, gypsum molding can have several coating options:

  • Paint.
  • Polymer.

If it is protected, then use it in outdoor finishing works there is a possibility. For the installation of such material, you will need construction or assembly glue and a level in order to properly and evenly attach the finishing elements.

Metal molding

Metal molding in its properties has significant advantages than plaster. It is practical and durable.
Its installation is also simple. It is not exposed to weather and climatic conditions, is frost-resistant and does not fade in direct sunlight.
Features:

  • As a rule, this type of molding does not have a wide variety of patterns and shapes, since its surface in most cases is flat and covered with a protective film and coating (paint, varnish surface, polymer coating).
  • There is a wide variety of shades and sizes of such material.
  • Very often, metal molding is used if the facade of the house is finished with corrugated board, which has similar characteristics and properties.

To fix such a finishing material you will need:

  • Self-tapping screws for metal.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Level.
  • Sealant.

Since the metal molding has special holes for fasteners, it will not be difficult to mount it on the surface of any finishing material. The most important thing for a high-quality design of the structure is to expose each element using a level and only then mount it on the surface.
The video shows an example of such works.

Wood molding

This decor on the walls of the building from the outside cannot be found too often. In most cases, it is used only for interior work and in those rooms where there is no high humidity.
All this is due to the fact that wood, even with very high-quality processing and long-term drying, is able to easily absorb moisture, and can dry out or shrink under the influence of weather conditions. A molding made of wood is mounted using wood screws and a screwdriver on any surface.
It goes very well with plastered walls.

Decking in the exterior of the building

Very often, external or external decoration of a brick building is performed with a profile sheet. If earlier such a material was in most cases used as a roofing material, today manufacturers have begun to produce new types of profile sheets that take on various forms and have different colors and sizes.
The advantages of a profile sheet in building decoration:

  • Profiled sheeting is distinguished by its strength and durability. It does not deform under mechanical and physical force.
  • It is moisture resistant and able to withstand significant temperature changes. Profile sheet for exterior decoration the building is quite easy to install, since no special instructions are required for this.
  • There are only certain recommendations of experienced craftsmen.

Council. If you use corrugated board as a finishing material on the outer walls of the structure, then it is necessary to initially carry out insulation and soundproofing work.

To install the material you will need:

  • Self-tapping screws for metal.
  • Screwdriver and hammer drill.
  • Rivets and riveter.
  • Level.
  • Sealant with which all joints of profile sheets are processed.

Thanks to its extensive colors decorating this material, finishing the house from the outside with corrugated board looks very solid and impressive.

Plastic in building decoration

This material in its own technical specifications very similar to siding and is often used in finishes where lightweight material is needed or savings are needed.
Benefits:

  • It is moisture resistant and durable.
  • Very easy to use.
  • Does not fade in the sun.
  • Withstands temperature fluctuations.
  • Houses made of foam blocks, exterior decoration is done with plastic very often, since the material is able to qualitatively protect the pores of the foam block from moisture and external influences.
  • Plastic is produced in panels or in strips.
  • Has a large selection of shades and sizes.

To install it you will need:

  • Wooden beams and boards.
  • Self-tapping screws for wood.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Construction stapler.
  • Staples of the required color.
  • Sealant (for coating material joints).

A wooden crate is erected on the surface, on which sheets or strips of finishing material are mounted. In the process of such work, it is possible to perform insulation and insulation of the walls of the building.

If you have a private building, and you are deciding what material is best to decorate the house from the outside, then this task requires the utmost attention. Indeed, unlike interior decoration, everyone sees the facade, and it is by this part that the beauty of the house and the taste and well-being of its owners are most often judged.

But, in addition to the aesthetic component, the materials for the exterior decoration of the house must have high characteristics of reliability and resistance to adverse influences, because the repair of the facade is very expensive.

Consider the requirements for outdoor finishing materials for the house:

  • Reliability - the coating must protect bearing structures at home from the adverse effects of the external environment. These include precipitation, low temperatures, and wind. Finishing should exclude the impact of all negative factors, this significantly extends the life of the entire house.
  • Thermal insulation, most often it is carried out in parallel with the device of the facade coating. This factor significantly affects the comfort of living in the house and the amount of payments for heating.
  • All materials must be resistant to ultraviolet radiation from the sun, which can not only fade the color of the material, but also destroy it. That is why only materials for exterior decoration should be used, they are adapted to difficult operating conditions.
  • The structure must be arranged in such a way as to ensure good ventilation of the facades, this will prevent the formation of condensation - main reason mold formation. At the same time, do not forget about additional waterproofing of structures unstable to high humidity.

Main types of coatings

As noted above, the main requirement for any outdoor finishing material is reliability, because it is very, very expensive to make repairs every couple of years. Therefore, you should not choose outlandish solutions, it is better to use a proven option that has proven itself well in your climatic conditions.

Impregnation and coloring

This option is used on all wooden buildings, most often houses made of timber.

The process is quite simple, but it is worth observing some nuances:

  • First of all, you should carefully seal all the cracks and joints with the help of special insulation for the joints.
  • It is better to grind all roughness, it is better to repair the damage with a putty.
  • First of all, it is necessary to impregnate all surfaces with a fire retardant composition, this will improve the resistance of the wood to adverse influences.
  • The final part of the work is painting the surface or covering it with a stain or varnish with ultraviolet protection.
  • And do not forget that the coating must be repeated every few years, this is the only way to guarantee the durability of your home.

Plastering

Facade plaster is a traditional material for decorating a house outside, which has been used for a long time.

The main features of this type of work:

  • Low cost of similar projects. The mixtures cost a little, but the facade will require a large enough volume, which should also be taken into account.
  • Another factor is the high labor intensity of the work. All operations on the facade can be done by hand, but there is a lot of work to be done. Of course, there are plastering stations, but purchasing such equipment for the sake of one house is impractical, so you will have to carry the solution manually.
  • Two main types of mixtures are used - cement, they are inexpensive and quite reliable, and gypsum - such mixtures are distinguished by high strength and durability, but their cost is somewhat higher than that of the first option. In addition, the presence of gypsum accelerates the drying process, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.
  • Most often, a layer of insulation is laid under the plaster; the most popular materials are polystyrene and stone wool. The materials must be securely fixed, and the surface must be reinforced with a special plaster mesh.
  • After leveling the walls and drying the mortar, the walls are either painted or covered with decorative compounds that give the surface a certain type of texture.

Siding

This material for exterior decoration of the house is very popular among buyers for its ease of installation and many undeniable advantages, which we will consider:

  • A wide range of options, textures and color solutions... On sale there is vinyl, metal and, each group of products has its own characteristics. The most popular solution is plastic panels.
  • The material is very light, which makes it easy to transport and install, but at the same time, the strength indicators are very high. The service life of such materials can be more than 50 years, provided they are used correctly.
  • Work on the facade can be done independently; this will require the installation of a frame made of wood or metal, under which, if necessary, insulation and waterproofing materials are laid. Strong lathing is the main guarantee of the durability of the entire structure.

Advice!
The correct calculation of materials guarantees a minimum amount of waste and a fast work process.
Due to the presence of all components, the appearance of such facades is neat and reliable.

Facing brick

This option has been out of fashion for several decades due to its properties:

  • High reliability of brickwork - such walls will withstand any loads and temperature changes. Without a doubt, this is the most durable option considered in this review.
  • A large selection of textures and colors will help you choose the best option.
  • The material is quite good noise insulator, in addition, such a coating improves thermal insulation.

Important!
The biggest drawback is that it is very difficult to make brickwork on your own, but, as practice shows, it is quite possible, only without experience this work will take a very long time.

Ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware slabs

This group of materials has its own characteristics:

  • They are not widely used in private buildings, mainly due to their high cost, but the quality of the material is beyond doubt.
  • Ceramic cladding is quite simple, but laborious, because it requires careful preparation of the walls. In the case of porcelain stoneware, it is still more difficult - a special facade system is required, the instructions for installing it are quite complicated, so specialists are most often hired.
  • The strength and durability of such structures are at the highest level, this can be called the main advantage of this solution.

Fake diamond

Such materials for finishing the house outside began to be used relatively recently, but have already earned popularity for the following properties:

  • A very low price, in addition, it is much more convenient to work with the material - the back side is always flat, which facilitates installation, ready-made elements are provided for the corners.
  • Unlike natural material the weight of the finished structure is much lower.
  • The material is quite durable and reliable; when treated with water repellents, the service life is several decades.
  • To carry out all the work efficiently, you should carefully prepare the surface.

Conclusion

In fact, there are many more options, we have considered the most optimal in terms of cost and reliability. You have to make the final choice, if you cannot decide, watch the video in this article, which discusses some of the features of certain types of facade decoration.

You have built a house. Now you have to decide what to "dress" him in, what materials to choose for exterior wall decoration. To do this, you need to know about all the advantages and disadvantages. different kind cladding, its cost, installation methods. At the same time, it is advisable not only to decorate the facade, but also to take care of improving the internal microclimate in the house.

Let's figure it out.

Plaster

Until recently, this was the most common way to decorate brick and panel houses. A layer of plaster covers all joints and cracks, improves sound insulation and thermal insulation of buildings, protects the surface from destruction under the influence of external factors, and evens it out.

In addition to traditional cement-sand compositions, more modern materials are used today for exterior wall decoration:

  • Polymer cement;
  • Acrylic;
  • Silicone;
  • Silicate plasters.

Note. Clay or gypsum-based mixtures that are unstable to moisture and other natural influences must not be used for facade finishing.

Nowadays, more efficient thermal insulation systems are used for plastering facades.

This is a three-layer sandwich consisting of:

  • Heat-insulating materials glued to the walls and additionally fixed with dowels (expanded polystyrene, mineral wool boards);
  • Front reinforcing fiberglass mesh;
  • Plasters.

Such "pie" allows you to create a normal temperature and humidity regime in the premises and, accordingly, reduce heating costs. At the same time, during the construction of the building, it is not necessary to make a reinforced foundation - such a finish does not create a serious load on it. And the cost of the materials used is very reasonable.

Cladding with brick and stone

It is also a rather popular type of decoration, which today, thanks to modern technologies for the manufacture of materials, can give a structure any style - from classic to modern and high-tech.

Brick

Facing bricks are produced from different components, therefore they can have a wide variety of characteristics and appearance.

  • Hyper-pressed fired brick - very strong, easy to process, frost-resistant, but due to its high density it is not very suitable for thermal insulation of buildings. It is appreciated for its decorative effect - its textured surface allows it to imitate natural natural stone.

Council. If you want to insulate the building, it is necessary to lay thermal insulation between the outer walls and the cladding.

  • Ceramic brick - is distinguished by high heat-saving characteristics, durability, visual appeal. The only drawback is the possibility of white bloom (efflorescence) appearing on the surface.

  • Clinker brick - the most diverse in terms of decorative performance, color, surface texture. An ideal solution for any building, if its owner is not confused by the high price of cladding.

Note! If you decide to use these materials for exterior wall decoration country house, it should be remembered that they create a significant additional load on the foundation. This must be taken into account at the design stage or the foundation must be strengthened before finishing.

Natural and artificial stone

Natural stone cladding looks luxurious, but it is very expensive. In addition, it is a heavy material that requires a reliable foundation, and is quite capricious in operation, requiring careful maintenance - marble and limestone because of its softness, granite because of its fragility.

The appearance of artificial stone on the construction market made it possible to level these shortcomings without losing the aesthetic appeal, reliability and durability of the exterior finish. Produced in the form of tiles imitating a wide variety of natural stone species, this material has less weight and price, ease of installation and maintenance.

Its exceptional advantages over natural stone include the possibility of facing not only concrete and brick walls, but also wooden or foam block. For this, a metal plaster mesh is attached to the wall surface, on top of which a layer of leveling plaster is applied, if necessary.

Important! The instruction requires preliminary moisture insulation of wooden walls with glassine or other material. It is even better to attach cement-bonded particle boards to them on the crate as a basis for cladding. Insulation can be placed between the lathing bars.

When choosing an artificial stone, always pay attention to its moisture and frost resistance - the durability of the finish depends on them.

Clinker tiles and porcelain stoneware

As you know, the lower the moisture absorption of the material, the higher its frost resistance and, accordingly, its durability. In this respect, exterior wall decoration materials such as clinker tiles and porcelain stoneware are ideal.

Plus, they have the following advantages:

  • High strength, ability to withstand severe mechanical stress;
  • Fire resistance;
  • Resistance to aggressive media;
  • Undemanding care;
  • Ease of installation;
  • A huge assortment of shapes, sizes, colors and textures.

With the help of such tiles, you can give the house both an ultra-modern look and the look of a medieval building. But the cost of both the material itself and the work on its installation is quite high.

Facade panels

Siding

If you are looking for exterior wall decoration materials wooden house, then siding is the most affordable and optimal option. These are panels made of various materials, which are attached to a previously made crate made of wooden battens or metal profiles.

Note. If the walls are even, the frame can be omitted, but it allows you to lay a layer of insulation under the cladding and leave an air gap between them, thereby constructing a ventilated facade system.

What is siding?

  • The most common type is made of PVC - the so-called vinyl siding... Differs in ease of installation, affordable price, fire and weather resistance. Its feature is the ability to change geometric parameters (expand and contract) when the temperature changes. Therefore, during installation, it is required to observe the fastening technology so as not to hinder the processes of natural thermal expansion. Otherwise, the cladding will deform.

  • Metal siding - made of aluminum or galvanized steel. The panels are protected with a special polymer coating, which gives them additional corrosion resistance and decorative effect. They have all the advantages of metal - nonflammability, strength, durability, resistance to temperature extremes.
  • Cement siding Are panels made from a mixture of cement with wood fibers or cellulose. The principle is somewhat different from the fastening of vinyl and metal siding, but it is also simple enough that it allows you to finish the walls with your own hands. The panels are produced unpainted and require painting after installation with high-quality facade paints.

Thermal panels

Are ready-made "Sandwich" from insulation and decorative coating. Insulation - expanded polyurethane, which can be seamed with marble chips or covered with clinker tiles. They can imitate brick or masonry in different shades and textures.

Thermal panels are mounted on the frame through special holes, connected to each other according to the groove-comb principle.

Thermal panels have a lot of advantages. This is low thermal conductivity, and fire safety, and absolute waterproofness, and ease of maintenance. They are able to withstand serious temperature fluctuations without losing their properties.

On the modern market there is a huge amount of all kinds of materials for cladding - it will not be difficult to give your home individuality and protect it from external influences. How to do it? The types of materials and methods of their use will be discussed below.

A few words about the types of materials for facing work

Exterior decoration of a wooden house (as well as houses from other materials) can be carried out using a variety of materials. In order to make a choice, you need to find out what the final effect will create each of them and what is the difference in cost between them.

All materials for the external cladding of the facade of a building can be divided into three main classes:

  1. Stone materials;
  2. Plastics, metals, wood, composites;
  3. Plaster.

In order to determine what kind of exterior decoration you should have at home, we will consider the materials listed above in the context of their performance.

Stone materials for cladding the facade of the house

Stone cladding creates a rich, imposing, solid image. This class of materials stands for durability, reliability and high quality. Stones for facing are of two types: natural (these are granite, marble, tuff, gabbro and others) and, which also have their own classification:

  • Ceramic or clay;
  • Concrete and silicate. They are made on the basis of cement binders and lime components. The most famous silicate materials are glass, white brick (silicate). In fact, ceramics also belongs to silicates, but due to their unique properties, they deservedly stand out as a separate independent group.
  • Plaster.

Artificially created stone materials have a wide range. They come in a variety of colors and textures. At the moment, the most popular ceramic materials, as they are the most durable and reliable. And, importantly, it should be said that some artificial materials are absolutely not inferior in their qualities to natural ones. And sometimes they even surpass them.

Cladding a facade made of any stone requires an additional foundation, which is usually represented by an additional foundation. It is deepened by only 20 or 30 centimeters, and its width must exceed the width facing stone by about 2 centimeters.

The construction of a facing wall of stone involves the placement of an additional layer of insulation under it. You can use backfill insulation (expanded clay or slag) without any additional structures (than other types of cladding cannot stand out from the general row).

Now this type of cladding is used much less often than a few years ago. This is due to the fact that cheaper materials have appeared (and continue to appear!), Which, by the way, are still inferior in terms of their performance characteristics. Indeed, prices for a natural stone, for example, very, very high, and the brick is not distinguished by its cheapness.

Plastic, metal, wood, composites - their features, varieties and applications

They, of course, are inferior to stone materials in terms of reliability and durability, but they have their own unique properties, thanks to which they have not become very popular in the Russian market. Firstly, it is with the help of them that it is possible to create an incredible number of very different styles and images of the house. Their design is simply magnificent. And secondly, they have unique performance characteristics.

The most common type of this material is siding, which is represented by the following classification:

  • Plastic and vinyl siding

Exterior decoration of a wooden house using plastic siding will help create any look, since this material perfectly imitates wood, brick, stone, and is also presented in a variety of colors and textures.

  • Metal siding (aluminum and steel)

This material is characterized by high temperature resistance and strength. From above it is covered with a special protective polymer film, which successfully protects it from moisture, and the metal siding is protected from decay with a special solution. Such facing is not afraid of any external influences.

Aluminum siding is the lightest and can be used for cladding private houses because of its lightness. The same cannot be said for steel siding, which is mainly used for industrial buildings (heavy load on the foundation). It is not in high demand due to its high price and susceptibility to corrosion.

  • Cement siding

These are a kind of panels for the exterior of the house. It does not burn and is very durable. However, in construction (especially in private) it is used extremely rarely due to the fact that it has a very large weight, which can become a threat and an additional impressive load for the foundation of the building.

  • Wooden siding or block house

This type of material is a pressed wood panel with the use of unique additives to provide moisture resistance, resistance to decay, sun, etc.

For a long time using siding in construction, he managed to establish himself from the best side. It is not afraid of mold, sun (it does not fade), water, moisture (does not rot), wind. And also it is practically not subject to destruction.

When purchasing siding, all accompanying materials are usually purchased at once for its installation on the walls of the house: fasteners, profiles, constituting architectural elements (corners, windows, doors, etc.). For many years of work with this material, a clear technology has been developed that allows you to easily carry out the construction process.

In Russia, siding is not currently produced. All products are imported. It is necessary to choose siding from well-known manufacturers for cladding so that the external finish frame house, for example, has served you for many years without fading or cracking in the cold or under the influence of moisture and wind. Usually, the cheapest options for this material are not very high quality.

The construction of home decoration in the case of using this class of materials usually looks like this:

  1. Insulation layer
  2. Film barrier for waterproofing
  3. Facing.

The insulation is attached to the base wall of the house using special dowels, which are also called "umbrella" or "fungus" because of their wide cap. There is a gap between the insulation and the waterproofing barrier, where air can circulate freely, due to which condensation does not occur. This is called a ventilated façade.

Fastening of this type of cladding is carried out using special frames from ordinary bent galvanized profiles.

A few words about plaster

More recently, plaster was understood as a gray matter, which, well, could not decorate any facade of the building with its appearance. At this point in time, it can be of various types: textured, smooth, with the addition of dyes and unpainted. Plaster can be made on the basis of different materials: lime, cement and gypsum binders, silicates, polymers, etc.

The decoration of the external walls of the building with this material is the oldest. Even in ancient Babylon, this type of cladding was used. With the help of plaster, you can improve the appearance of the house, as well as enhance the protective properties of the walls, making them stronger, more durable, and reliable.

The most expensive are acrylic and silicone plasters. It is for this reason that materials based on cement binder are mainly used in private construction.

Before covering the walls of the house with plaster, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work:

  • They are cleaned with a spatula from dust, peeling wall particles, and cracks on them are leveled with a knife.
  • For walls of low strength (for example, from cinder blocks), you will have to install metal reinforcement nets, designed specifically for covering them with plaster. They are mounted with staples or nails.
  • It is necessary to cover the walls with a deep impregnation primer. For walls with poor adhesion, it is better to choose a contact primer.

To insulate the walls when lining them with plaster, a special fiberglass mesh is fixed on top of the insulation, on which a finishing solution of a special composition is already applied. This insulation has a good effect and low cost.

Using modern materials for the exterior of the house, installing modern windows, making French glazing of the loggia, you can successfully improve any facade. This is by no means a luxury, but a necessity for the facades of private houses, because they are constantly exposed to adverse weather conditions, and also serve as the "face" of the owners of this house. high-quality finishing of the facade of a house is especially relevant for owners of old buildings, as it helps to effectively hide all the flaws of such a house that have appeared over the years of operation. In this article, we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of modern finishing materials and give useful tips by their choice and use.

Types of finishing materials for the facade of the house

First of all, speaking about finishing materials, one cannot fail to mention plaster. This is a truly universal and timeless wet (coated directly on the wall surface) type of house facade decoration. Plaster is a unique material. All other modern finishing materials are attached to the walls like overlays, and the plaster is applied to the wall surface, leveling it and correcting all flaws. Today on sale you can see whole sets for plastering walls. Do not be afraid of this work - it is actually not difficult, and the effect, as they say, is on the face - the facade of the house will be protected and ennobled for many years.

Most often, plastering work is carried out in order to prepare the walls before painting the facade of the house. There are two types of plaster used for exterior decoration at home - plaster and cement. Gypsum plaster, as the name implies, is prepared on the basis of gypsum. Its cost is noticeably higher than cement, but such plaster will also last much longer. In addition, it is much more pleasant to use gypsum plaster than cement plaster, since it is more plastic, has much higher adhesive properties, which gives better adhesion to the surface on which it is applied. Walls finished with gypsum plaster "breathe", letting air through themselves, they do not become overmoistened, do not grow moldy, do not rust and do not rot.

Siding is an excellent material for exterior home decoration. Indeed, modern finishing materials look very impressive, pay attention to the photo:

Siding, a finishing material for the facade of a house, is really very easy to assemble and install - you don't need any special tools to cut and mount it on the wall.

There are several types of siding on sale. Most often, vinyl siding (also called PVC siding) is used as a finishing material for the facades of private houses. Also popular is metal siding, which, in turn, is steel, aluminum, or sometimes copper. Also, siding can be wooden, or just wood, as well as cement (it is used to finish the basement of a house).

Siding is a modern finishing material that does not rot and does not corrode. This is possible due to the fact that in the process of its manufacture, the siding is treated with special solutions that form a special protective film on its surface.

Facing brick is a popular, time-tested finishing material. If you want not only to decorate the house, making it attractive, but also to insulate, then facing brick is just what you need! This finishing material has both a smooth and a grooved surface, it can be monochromatic and colored, both with patterns and imitation of a real stone. The starting material of the finishing brick is clay, into which various modifying special additives are mixed, giving it increased strength and durability. Finishing brick is a material with a rather low moisture absorption and high frost resistance, as well as low thermal conductivity.

Such modern finishing material as fake diamond... Unlike natural stone, artificial stone has a much lower weight, and therefore can also be used in the decoration of houses with a weak foundation. In specialized stores, you can choose an artificial stone of any color or texture, both with a smooth, even surface, and with a corrugated one, picking it up with other finishing materials (combine it with metal products, or with wood, as well as with ceramics, etc.).

Both ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware are time-tested reliable finishing materials. If we talk about a private house, then they are one of the most financially profitable finishing materials. They are used for exterior wall decoration of a private house. Their advantages and disadvantages will be discussed in more detail in the next paragraph.

Materials for exterior decoration of the house - their advantages and disadvantages

Plaster. The most important advantage of this type of finishing is that plaster is the cheapest and easiest type of work for finishing the facade of a private house. You can master the skill of plastering from the very first time, and the effect of its use will be noticeable for many years.

Also, the indisputable advantages of plaster are the solidity of the surface, obtained upon completion of the finish, and the technological accuracy of its application. Gypsum plaster is also very durable - it can serve you even up to a quarter of a century (provided that all technological requirements for it are strictly observed).

Among the shortcomings, one can list, firstly, the laboriousness of performing work on improving the facade of the house and their speed (due to the fact that all technological operations for plastering the walls are carried out manually, this significantly increases the end of the plastering work).

Siding. Siding has many advantages, firstly, it is very durable - the service life of this modern finishing material is up to half a century.

Also, siding absolutely does not attract dust and dirt - in order to wash it, it is enough to direct the pressure of water from a hose to it, moreover, the siding does not absorb unpleasant odors.

Siding panels made of wood and PVC weigh very little - they can be lifted and installed by any average man. For this reason, for the installation of siding, you do not need to hire lifting equipment, which will reduce the time for installation work.

Installation of siding panels is also facilitated by the fact that they have convenient locks with special latches built into them, which greatly simplifies their installation on the walls of the house. Also, the installation of siding can be carried out in any weather and season (as opposed to, for example, plastering). Siding is resistant to all kinds of adverse mechanical influences, environmentally friendly and practically non-flammable.

The disadvantages include the high cost of siding panels made of metal, as well as the appearance of the facade of the house (some do not like their too "official" strict look).

Fake diamond. The main advantage of artificial stone is its high manufacturability (in comparison with a real stone). Firstly, it affects the process of its processing. So, on sale you can find its ready-made elements with the corners and rounds necessary for installation (for installation on door slopes and windows). It is also important that when using artificial stone, there is no need to prepare the surface for its installation (unless the surface is wooden).

One of the significant drawbacks of artificial stone is the laboriousness of its use during the cladding process: it is necessary to carefully process the surface, use expensive adhesives and use the labor of highly qualified specialists. Also, one cannot fail to mention its high cost.

However, the fact that artificial stone gives any, even the most ordinary-looking house, a presentable appearance, because the most seedy building acquires solidity - all this makes it a worthy competitor to other popular facing materials.

Positive aspects - a rich palette of colors and shades, sizes of ceramic material, giving a wide choice of solutions for facing; do not require special maintenance, are characterized by low water absorption and high resistance to temperature fluctuations, increased fire resistance and strength.

There is only one drawback - the cost of ceramic cladding materials for outdoor decoration: this is an expensive material, and the work on cladding the walls of a house with it is quite expensive.

Prices for finishing materials for facades

The most traditional is such a decoration of the facade of a private house as plastering (with the possibility of subsequent painting) and lining ( natural wood). These are the cheapest types of cladding.

It will be quite inexpensive to decorate the facade of a private house with such inexpensive materials that are now popular as inexpensive materials such as vinyl (PVC) or metal siding, as well as facade foam.

Reinforced foam panels and decorative elements are another inexpensive finishing material.

Clinker tiles that mimic clinker bricks will also not cost you half of your household budget - they are relatively inexpensive (compared to, for example, natural bricks).

Among the expensive finishing materials, one can also mention natural stone and real brick, as well as porcelain stoneware (artificial granite) and marble.
